Job Description:
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER PALM BEACH COUNTY is seeking an
experienced and dynamic Assistant Construction Lead to oversee and
coordinate both new construction and home repair projects. Job
Summary : The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
construction management and a passion for affordable housing. This
role involves managing project timelines, resources, and quality
while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Additionally, the Assistant Construction Lead will conduct site
assessments to evaluate the feasibility of home repair projects.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK. MUST HAVE
A MINIMUM OF 3 YEAR CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Job Title: Assistant
Construction Lead Reports directly to DOC Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management: Develop and manage project plans,
including timelines and resource allocation for both new
construction and home repair projects. Coordinate with architects,
engineers, subcontractors, and volunteers to ensure project
requirements are met. Monitor project progress and make adjustments
as necessary to ensure successful completion within scope and time
constraints. Site Assessments: Conduct thorough site assessments
for potential home repair projects to determine feasibility and
scope of work. Evaluate existing conditions, identify necessary
repairs or upgrades, and assess structural integrity and safety.
Provide recommendations and detailed reports on the viability of
proposed home repair projects. Team Coordination: Lead project
teams, including construction staff, volunteers, and
subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Provide guidance, training, and support to volunteers and staff
involved in construction and repair activities. Quality Assurance
and Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local building
codes, safety regulations, and Habitat for Humanity standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to
ensure high standards of workmanship and safety. Community
Engagement: Work with Habitat for Humanity partners and community
stakeholders to foster positive relationships and support for
projects. Engage with homeowners and provide necessary support
throughout the construction or repair process. Reporting and
Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including
progress reports, change orders, and incident reports. Prepare and
present regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on
project status and performance. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years
of experience in construction management Minimum of 3 years of
experience in construction in south Florida Proven track record of
managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on
time. Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes,
and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and
interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with
diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management
software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible
hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
Must have a minimum of 3 years clean driving record and meet
requirements for Habitat Insurance policy. About Us : Habitat for
